Why Chapter Two? There are two partners (Nick & Kate), two kids (Adie & Tilda), a second generation bookseller (Kate’s dad is Michael Treloar) and the books are all second-hand.

But Chapter Two Books is not your average second-hand bookshop…

“We realise everyone has different tastes and interests,” says Nick, “but we wanted to create a bookshop where you could walk in blindfolded, grab any book off a shelf, remove the blindfold and say ‘hey, that looks like a great book!’”

To do this, Nick and Kate have returned to times gone by; each week, hundreds of books are painstakingly scrutinised, judged, compared and evaluated before selecting the very best of those books to put on the Chapter Two Bookshelves.

Describing their customers as “intelligent and thoughtful with very high standards and expectations”, this friendly, atmospheric and (oh my gosh) tidy little bookshop is a true Adelaide Hills hidden gem.

“We respect and understand that reading is one of life’s simple pleasures,” says Kate. ”We work hard to make sure that pleasurable experience begins when you walk in our front door.”
