Lest We Forget

DSCN0488Friday is ANZAC Day, a day to remember those who fought and died in the service of our country. ANZAC day was originally dedicated to those Australian and New Zealand soldiers who served in Gallipoli but it has become a day to commemorate all servicemen and women who fought and continue to risk their lives in various parts of the world. The question of whether our troops should be deployed in some countries is a controversial one but Australian troops have done more than fight, they have served as peacekeepers, they have offered aid and protection to innocent civilians and have helped rebuild villages and lives. Australian servicemen and women have a reputation of being good natured, brave and kind and we are proud of them. Lest we forget
