  1. Perhaps I should get the ball rolling… in the lead-up to the Fourth of July, is anyone reading an American author? I’m currently reading Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller but am not totally enamoured (see Nick’s List)…

  2. Hmmmm not getting all loved up with American Literature despite the impending 4th of July… at the moment I’m reading “Buddhism for Busy People” by David Michie. To be totally accurate I’m re-reading… and getting closer to my own Buddha Nature page by page (or at least getting a little more patient with the kiddies).

    Love the website…..

  3. Hey Lisi

I’d say patience is something you need with kids – mind you it does depend on the kid, and apparently I was a bit of a terror. I vividly recall returning home from a fun time so coated in mud my mum made me strip and bang all the mud off before I could come inside…I wonder if you’ve ever read John Steinbeck?

  4. My book club just finished reading The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde and are now looking for something to follow it up with.
    Ideas?
On Wilde however, I found the novel to be filled with so many classic 1 liner social comments that it was almost a book of quotes. A good read, though somewhat dated when it comes to the ‘horror of such unspeakable acts as entering a theatre still wearing your overcoat’
